Set/Change the Spending Limit for Maybank Visa Debit Card

Posted on 15 January 2010 | Category: Internet Business, Life, Online Shopping

Maybank Visa Debit Card

A visitor emailed me the other day asking about the spending limits for the Maybank Visa Debit Card. They have also asked how can they change/increase the spending limits of the card.

By default, Maybank has set the spending limit for the Maybank Visa Debit Card to RM500 per day. The spending limit includes purchases made online or offline.

You can change the spending limit to a maximum of RM5,000 per day, however you cannot do it online. The spending limit (along with withdrawal limit) for the Maybank Visa Debit Card can ONLY be changed at the Maybank ATM. I have called the Maybank customer service line, and they did confirm this, and that the spending limit cannot be changed online.

Do hope this helps! Please do email me at info [at] mrcuz [dot] com if you have questions, and I’ll do my best to answer them for you ;)

CIMB Clicks Email Phishing Scam

Posted on 05 January 2010 | Category: Internet Business, Internet Scams

The scammers are at it again!

Of late, there has been many emails “supposedly” from CIMB claiming that your CIMB Clicks account needs re-verification and such, and requires you to login at on a link that they provide.

DO NOT FALL FOR THIS CIMB CLICKS PHISHING SCAM!

Ignore the email, and do not click on the link that they give in the email.

This is the most recent CIMB Clicks email phishing that I received (links removed of course)

We noticed several unsuccessful login attempts on your CIMB Clicks online bank account. Therefore your account has been suspended as part of our security precaution.

You are therefore required to re-confirm your account details on file with us in order to prove that you are the legitimate owner of the account.

This is a 2 step authentication process, which must be completed.

Confirm Your Details [link to the phishing site]

Note: You are requested to have your mobile phone close to you

You will be requesed to enter a Transaction Authorisation Code (TAC) in other to restore your account access.

You shall receive the Transaction Authorisation Code (TAC) on your mobile phone during the step 2 of the account restoration process

Failure to provide the Transaction Authorisation Code (TAC) which you will receive on your mobile phone shall lead to permanent closure of your online banking account

You are advised to adhere strictly to the instructions provided in this email.

Thank you,
CIMB Clicks Team.

Phishing scam (pronounced as ‘fishing’), is an act of masquerading to acquire your sensitive information such as bank account numbers, passwords etc. Phishing scammers will usually send emails to unsuspecting victims, posing as a bank officials requesting you to update your information, confirm your details and more. Phishing scam is a major financial threat, and in the UK, an estimated total of £23.2 million has been lost to phishing scam in 2005 (source: Association for Payment Clearing Services, APACS. So be very careful guys! Always remember to login from cimbclicks.com.my if you want to check your CIMB account, and never use any of the email links to login!

Even a Disabled Person can drive a Toyota Estima!

Posted on 02 January 2010 | Category: Life, Through MrCuz's Eyes

Snapped this pic over at Tesco Cheras a few weeks back.

There are 2 possibilities here:

1. Malaysia is a very prosperous country. So prosperous that even a disabled/handicapped guy can afford an RM200,000 Toyota Estima.

2. Damn-bugger-with-no-civic-consciousness parked in a parking space reserved for a disabled customer.

If it was case number #1, I should be kicked in the butt for being such a loser.. I drive Proton only!

In any case, if the parking is reserved for the Disabled customers or for customers with young infants, don’t park there. Be a kind hearted guy or gal!

Happy New Year Malaysia!! What’s your Plan for 2010?
